Embracing Your True Self: Living in Your Christ-Centered Identity With Jennifer Slatteryنموونە

You are imago dei (God's Image Bearer).
I’ve defined myself many ways over the years, most of them negative. I’m too outspoken. Too goofy. Too sensitive. Too harsh. Too soft. Too analytical, and at other times, not analytical enough. Too obsessive regarding certain things and too forgetful of others.
Perhaps you can relate.
When we believe we’re insufficient, we’re often tempted to hide the most beautiful parts of ourselves, the very qualities God infused within us to beautifully reflect Him. Recognizing and embracing God’s image, intentionally crafted within us, however, leads to increased healing, confidence, and life.
We’re not accidents, afterthoughts, burdens, or sources of frustration. God designed us, from our intellect to our emotions, from our dreams to our talents, to reveal who He is at His core—intentional, creative, intellectual and relational. His desire is that, when others look at us and we look at one another, we catch a glimpse of Him.
You were created to shine—for Christ.
As we step deeper into grace, and through the power of Christ in us, live as the radiant image bearers He created us to be, our inner lies weaken as the vibrancy of God’s life, birthed within us, takes hold.
Journal Prompts:
Prayerfully list some of the ways you live as Christ’s image bearer. How do you feel reflecting on these inherent characteristics? How might reflecting on your God given status as His image bearer (Imago Dei in Latin) help decrease your insecurity and increase your confidence and peace?

You’re not insufficient, overlooked, unimportant or unseen. In Christ, you are loved, chosen, called, redeemed, empowered and held close by the One who crafted your every cell, knows your every flaw, sees your potential. Unfortunately, wounds from our past can challenge our ability to view ourselves as the Lord’s beloved. May this 30-day plan remind you of who you are to Christ and in Christ, helping you live with increased confidence and joy.
