Abraham and Sarah’s Faith Unlocked the Miraculous

Abram wasn’t hunting for God—God came hunting for him. Like Noah, he wasn’t righteous, religious, or ready. He was a pagan in Babylon when grace showed up. God didn’t choose Abram because he was impressive—He chose him to show how powerful His grace is. One man’s faith would become the hinge point for blessing the nations and sending Jesus, the promised seed.

When God scattered Babylon in judgment, He raised up one of their own—Abram—to be the vessel of His blessing. God called Abram to leave his home and family, promising him land, descendants, and a legacy, even though he and his wife were old and barren. The promise wasn’t about many seeds—but one seed: Jesus. (Genesis 3:15; Matthew 1:1; Galatians 3:16)

At 75, Abram obeyed in faith. He took his wife, Sarai, and nephew Lot and stepped into the unknown. Every time he met with God, he built an altar and worshiped. He settled in Bethel, near Jerusalem, setting the stage for the story of redemption to unfold.

The contrast is clear. Babylon tried to build greatness without God—and fell. Abram trusted God—and became great. For everything the Babylonians tried to earn, God gave it all to Abram by grace. That’s the point: blessing doesn’t come from building your own tower but from walking by faith with the One who holds the future.

Babylon built without God—and crumbled. Abram walked with God—and became the father of nations. His story reminds us: legacy doesn’t come from effort, but from faith. True blessing starts when you walk away from the past and follow God into the future.

What step of faith is God asking you to take—before you see the results?
