Hebrews 11: Flawed but Faithfulنموونە

Abel’s Faith Turned Giving Into True Worship
Cain and Abel both brought offerings, but only one brought faith. From the beginning, God made it clear: He doesn’t just want your stuff—He wants your heart. You can go through the motions, sing the songs, and drop the money, but if your heart isn’t in it, God sees right through it.
Genesis 4 shows the first recorded act of worship—two brothers, two offerings, but only one accepted. Both brought gifts from their work, but God accepted Abel’s, not Cain’s. Why? Because God saw their hearts. Worship without faith is empty. Faith turns giving into worship.
God warned Cain, “If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin is crouching at the door…” (Genesis 4:7 ESV)
Cain ignored the warning and gave in to sin. Abel trusted God, and his faith still speaks (Hebrews 11:4).
The Bible says, “...the Lord looks on the heart.” (1 Samuel 16:7 ESV) You can fool people—but not God. Two people can sing the same song, but only one is truly worshiping.
So before asking, “What was wrong with Cain?” ask, “What’s going on in me?” Real worship isn’t just about what you give—it’s about why you give.
Abel’s faith left a legacy. Cain’s jealousy left a trail of pain.
Which one are you following? Worship isn’t a performance. It’s a heart thing. So, bring your offering—and make sure your heart’s in it.
What’s in your heart when you show up to worship—faith or something else?
