Protocols, Postures and Power of Thanksgivingنموونە

LET NOTHING COME BETWEEN YOU AND THANKS
Sometimes anger, offence, or the noise of other people’s opinions tries to wedge itself between you and genuine thanksgiving. Do not let it. In Bethany, a woman broke an alabaster box — “very precious” — and poured it on Jesus’ head (Mark 14:3). Heaven’s record highlighted her act, not the Pharisee’s attitude. When you appear before God, the story Heaven tells about you must be that you honoured Him proportionately. Come before the Father without the debates of the day, without the quarrels of the house, and without the secret resentment that drains worship of its power. Thanksgiving is not an afterthought; it is a deliberate, costly response that fits the mercy you received.
Notice the contrast: a religious host neglected basic honour, but a forgiven woman wept at the Master’s feet and wiped them with her hair — her glory (Luke 7:44–47). That is the weight of sincere gratitude. People around you may not understand your oil because they did not walk your valley. There are pains no human can fully share; only the Holy Ghost stood with you in those nights. So when you return to thank Him for walking you through the dark, refuse the intimidation of cynics. Pray against wrong attitudes and pursue right acts — words, posture, and gifts that declare, “Only God did this.”
Practically, guard your altar. Before you go to worship, reconcile where necessary; silence the arguments; ask the Spirit to purify motive and posture. Decide ahead what you are thanking God for and what expression fits its weight — a testimony, a memorial seed, a visit to honour a channel, an hour prostrate before the Lord. In church, never look down on those whose thanksgiving is intense; you do not know their backstory. Let your response be costly, precise, and prompt. When gratitude becomes deliberate like this, Heaven writes a memorial beside your name, and your thanksgiving becomes a doorway for future mercies.
THOUGHT TO PONDER: What attitude has been standing between me and sincere thanksgiving, and how will I remove it today? What costly, precise act will truthfully express what the Lord did for me?
PRAYER: Father, deliver me from attitudes that dilute honour. I choose a costly, precise response that fits Your mercy and gives You glory, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

The Bible urges us to give thanks in everything, for this is God’s will in Christ Jesus concerning you (1 Thess. 5:18). Thanksgiving is very important, yet many miss the opportunity to practice it. Everyone has tasted God’s faithfulness; therefore, recognizing it makes thanksgiving deliberate and effective; it is your response to what He has done. Join us as we explore the subject of thanksgiving over the next 31 days.
