Father, bind us together in perfect unity.

Scripture reminds us again and again that the real enemy we face isn’t our spouse, isn’t the conflict, isn’t the hard season, but Satan himself. The enemy of our soul is also the enemy of our marriage. While we may be tempted to turn against each other, Satan’s goal is always the same: to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10 NIV). He aims to divide what God has joined together.

That’s why we must choose to “put on love” like it says in Colossians 3:14 (NIV). Christ’s love for us was sacrificial, unearned, and unconditional, and that is the kind of love we are called to extend to our spouse.
