30 Scripture Based Prayers for Your Marriage

ڕۆژی10 لە 30

Holy Spirit, let our love be a light to others.

When Jesus says in Matthew 5:16 (NIV) “let your light shine before others,” he tells us why as well: “so that they may see and glorify your Father in heaven.” We shine to glorify God in heaven. Not for our own gain or puffing up but rather so others can see and worship God themselves.

Whether you’ve considered it or not, your marriage is on a mission. It’s for you to evaluate what mission it’s on. When the Lord brought you and your spouse together he didn’t simply do it for the sake of your happiness. While I truly believe the Lord desires for his children to experience happiness, there is sanctifying work within the bounds of marriage, and there is a great opportunity to shine the light of Jesus for all the world to see.

This world desperately needs Jesus, and it also needs to see God-honoring marriages and families as a reflection of his love and truth. Matthew 5:16 tells us that in a culture filled with brokenness, a Christ-centered marriage and family stand as a beacon of hope, a bright light, a picture of the redemptive work that only he can do. Your marriage can point people to him and bring him the glory.

Go be light!

Today’s Prayer:

Lord, we want to shine bright for you. We don’t want our marriage to be so focused on us that we forget we are called to bring light into a dark world. Help us remember the mission and be a marriage that reflects the life and light that comes from a life lived out to you.

30 Scripture Based Prayers for Your Marriage

Bringing your marriage before the Lord is both powerful and redemptive. When two imperfect people stand on Scripture and invite God to strengthen their bond, they build a defense the enemy cannot break. What a gift to know God is for your marriage, and for you. These next 30 days are an invitation to declare his Word over your relationship and trust him with what only he can do: protect, grow, and fortify your marriage from the inside out.
