Beyond the Battlefieldنموونە

What a powerful statement of faith and dependence. And, a comforting thought to know that, no matter what we’re going through in this life, God will be our savior, our salvation. Nothing can separate us from His love. But have you ever noticed how crazy your emotions are sometimes? You can be having the best day, then something bad happens, and it goes from a great day to horrible. When emotions get involved, things can easily go from good to bad. The interesting thing is that our emotions follow our thoughts. If we find ourselves overcome with fear, we need to stop and think about what we’ve been thinking about. Where is our focus? Have we been focused more on the problems going on or on God?
God wants us to trust in Him. Isaiah was making a declaration—a declaration for believers to find peace and confidence in God’s presence, even in difficult times. This can be hard, though. But when we focus on God’s goodness and acknowledge Him as the source of our salvation, this can help to shift our perspective from fear and worry to trust and confidence. If fear or doubt arises, be encouraged to reflect on your thoughts and to replace them with thoughts of God’s love and provision.
