None Like Him: 5 Attributes of Godنموونە

God Is Truth
God is Truth. He is the right answer, the only way, and without error.
Truth has been a controversial concept since...well, all of time. Since almost the beginning, humans have tried to create their own rules to replace the ones they didn’t like. It started when Satan asked Adam and Eve if God really said they would die if they ate the fruit in Genesis 3, and it has continued ever since.
The stories around truth are confusing because we can never quite land on what’s true on our own. Laws are altered, and textbooks are changed. It’s common to use the phrase, “my truth.” It’s hard growing up today! We’re all a little confused. If I have a truth and you have a different truth, how can anything be true?
God clears up all our questions and concerns in John 14:6. Jesus tells us that He is Truth, and no one can come to God except through Him.
If Jesus is Truth, Jesus is God, and God inspired the Bible, then the easiest way we can find God’s truth is by reading God’s Word. God’s Word is truth in written form. God informs us that all Scripture is God-breathed and trustworthy (2 Timothy 3:16-17). We can take our big questions and concerns to it because it has the answers.
God’s Word was written down thousands of years ago by followers of God, inspired by the Holy Spirit to real Christians living in real places and times. It is also alive. Hebrews 4:12 tells us that God’s Word is living and active, “sharper than any double-edged sword.” The Holy Spirit who helped people write down the words of the Bible is the same Spirit helping you understand as you read today. His truth will always pierce through lies.
Satan knows the quickest way to our hearts is to get us to believe lies. He’s been doing it since Genesis 3, when Adam and Eve believed God was lying to them, and it’s why Jesus calls him the “father of lies” (John 8:44). But we don’t have to believe him; we actually have the power to resist Satan’s lies and live in the truth that God speaks over us. How? By getting really familiar with the voice of Jesus. Jesus said, “I am the good shepherd...My sheep hear my voice; I know them, and they follow me” (John 10:11, 27).
The best way to know the truth of God from the lies of the devil is to listen to the voice of Jesus by reading His Word, meditating on it, and remembering it.
As Satan’s voice and the world around us get noisier, don’t forget that God is Truth. When we read God’s Word and spend time with Him, we remember the truth when the enemy attacks us with lies.
Everything God says is true because He is Truth. Press into His Word and fight for truth.

The beginning of understanding who we are is knowing who God is. For a teen girl, the most important thing about her identity isn’t her popularity or college major—it’s her creator. If you’re trying to understand yourself better, start by looking at God. During the next five days you’ll learn there’s none like him. And when you know without a doubt who God is, everything else fades into the distance.
