The Spirit Code - a 5-Day Reading Plan

ڕۆژی4 لە 5

The Christian life is not intended to be lived on flowery beds of ease. When we are being filled with God’s Spirit, we can expect to meet the devil head-on. In fact, if we are not meeting him head-on, it might be that we are going in the same direction as him. The battle lines have been drawn for us in what the Bible calls the “works of the flesh” versus the “fruit of the Spirit.” They war against one another, vie for our attention, and are contrary to one another. . . .

The Bible refers to that period of time between our conversion to Christ and the time we go to heaven as the walk of the believer. According to Galatians 5:16, we are expected to walk in the Spirit. If we live in the Spirit, then verse 25 says we should also walk in the Spirit. We have all known those who walked the Christian life for decades with seemingly little victory, while others journeyed only a short distance in the Christian walk before they died, yet their lives were manifested in joy and victory. . . .

If faith is good enough to save us, it is also good enough to live and walk by in our Christian life. This is a walk of faith, not of feeling or sight. Further, God has His own way of honoring those who honor Him by walking in faith, because when we do, “there is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit” (Romans 8:1). There is no condemnation or judgment for those who understand the battle lines and choose the right side.

God never intended the Christian walk to be one of discouragement, darkness, or defeat. Certainly, as we walk this journey, there will be problems that hinder our progress. But there are also proofs that highlight our walk of faith. It is time to pick sides. The battle lines are drawn.

Prayer

Lord, I know that I will face difficulties even though I serve You. Please remind me that I will find my strength and victory in You alone. Amen.
