The Armor of God

ڕۆژی1 لە 7

Hello Friends,

Welcome to our Bible study The Armor of God! Thank you for choosing this plan. We know there are several plans to choose from, and we are so grateful for the fact that you chose this plan. We pray it BLESSES you!

We are honored to have you here reading and studying the Word of God along our side. We believe this will be a powerful tool for you on your faith journey. We believe every follower of Jesus Christ should be walking with their Armor on, and we pray that this Bible study will help you understand what the armor is and how we are able to use it as we walk in our purpose!

We pray that when you finish this study, you will see yourself as empowered and equipped by the Holy Spirit, and that you can live from a place of victory, in Jesus' Name!

Day 1

Put on the Whole Armor of God

'In conclusion, be strong in the Lord [draw your strength from Him and be empowered through your union with Him] and in the power of His [boundless] might.

Put on the full armor of God [for His precepts are like the splendid armor of a heavily-armed soldier], so that you may be able to [successfully] stand up against all the schemes and the strategies and the deceits of the devil.

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood [contending only with physical opponents], but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this [present] darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) places.

Therefore, put on the complete armor of God, so that you will be able to [successfully] resist and stand your ground in the evil day [of danger], and having done everything [that the crisis demands], to stand firm [in your place, fully prepared, immovable, victorious]. '

Ephesians 6:10-13 (AMP)

As followers of Christ, we don't have to fear the enemy because God has EQUIPPED us for victory. The battles we face in this life have already been won!

But how, you might ask? By Jesus going to the cross, He has already defeated the enemy for us. And because we are IN Christ, we too have been given the victory.

It all points back to the cross. We have to look and see what the cross has made available to us as God's chosen children. I believe our Armor is available to us because of Jesus going to the cross. What we need in this life to defeat the enemy has been made available by way of the cross.

Our Armor is custom fit and designed specifically for us and the battles we will face.

This reminds me of the story of David and Goliath in 1 Samuel 17. There was a Philistine giant named Goliath that was taunting the Israelites day after day, for 40 days in fact. Everyone feared him...until David.

David looked past the fact that Goliath was over 9 feet tall (v.4)!

David looked past the fact that Goliath was called a champion (v.4)!

David looked past the fact that Goliath was fully suited with the best armor that could be made in its day, and that he even had an armor bearer walking in front of him with a shield (v. 5-7)!

David knew who and whose he was! He knew that victory came from the Lord. Everyone tried to talk David out of going up against Goliath, but David knew he was covered and protected.

In verse 32, David tells King Saul, don't worry about this Philistine, I'll go fight him!

David was fully aware of what it meant to be in covenant with God Almighty, and when we do too, we can walk confidently and boldly in every battle we face knowing we have God on our side.

Part of our covenant is protection by God Himself.

Part of our covenant means God fights for us.

Part of our covenant means God will never leave or forsake us.

We as God's chosen must know what our covenant actually entails!

As Co-Heirs with Christ...we have benefits!

David had God on His side and Goliath did not, and that makes all the difference in the world. You can have the 'best of the best' according to the world's standards, but if you don't have God in your life...

You. Have. Nothing.

And you are leaving yourself vulnerable to the lies and attacks of the enemy, with absolutely no protection.

In verse 33, King Saul says to David, there is no way that you can defeat Goliath, you are just a boy. Then King Saul gives David his own armor for him to wear. David put it on, strapped the sword over it, and took a step or two to see what it was like and said, I can't go in these. I am not used to them.

Key Point: We cannot wear someone else's armor for our battles. We must wear our own!

King Saul was a man of stature, and we know David to be on the smaller side. Saul's armor literally would have been too big for David. Saul had his armor custom fit. It was made for Saul and his battles, not David's.

Now I may not be talking about real, actual armor or about real life giants like Goliath, but I think you get the picture.

God already knows each battle that we will come up against and as His chosen children, He has designed each of our Armor.

One that would be able to withstand any battle we face.

Hallelujah!

Now just because we have the armor doesn't mean we are automatically dressed in it. Yes, I believe we are covered by the powerful Blood of Jesus and protected, but I also believe we must put on our Armor.

This is our job.

Just as we get dressed each day, we must make sure we have our full set of custom Armor on, so we are prepared and ready. Think of a soldier who goes out into the battlefield... do you think he has his armor on? Or do you think he comes to battle ill-prepared? You better believe he puts on his armor before he steps out into the battlefield.

It is the same for us. As soon as we get up each morning before our feet hit the ground (the battlefield), we better armor up in Jesus' Name. We must not let the enemy catch us off guard.

I will also note that I believe once we put our Armor on, it stays on. Nothing and no one can take our Armor off.

I have noticed---and I believe you will too---that as you PUT ON your Armor each day, it brings back to remembrance that you are actually covered in the Armor of God. Faith is active. And as we actively put on our armor, I believe we can and will defeat the enemy in Jesus' Name!

If you do this daily, I believe it will be one of the best habits you can form. Your senses will be more aware that you are covered and protected, not only by the precious and powerful Blood of Jesus Christ, but with the Armor of God, so when the enemy comes you can boldly declare... Not today, Satan! I am covered by the Blood of Jesus, and I am armored up in Jesus' mighty Name!

With each piece of armor, you can defeat the enemy in different battles. Each day we will look at one piece of armor and how it is vital to our faith walk.

I pray that as you read each day, you will have your own revelation of just how important it is to be armored up!

QUESTION

Have you heard of the Armor of God before?

Are you actively putting on your custom-made armor each day?

What 'giant' are you facing today and how will knowing you have protective armor help you gain your victory in this battle?

ACTION STEP

Put on your armor of God piece by piece! Say it out loud and visualize each piece of armor as you do!

DECLARATION

I declare I am covered by the precious and powerful blood of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, and I am fully armored up in Jesus' mighty Name! My faith is active, and I put on my custom Armor daily as I step into battle! I refuse to be caught off guard! I am well prepared, and I declare I live from the place of victory in Jesus' Name! Amen.
