Peter is full of love for Jesus. He is sure that no matter what, he would never betray the Lord. To Peter’s consternation, Jesus predicts that he will betray him. Just as Jesus said, Peter is faced with the unthinkable choice – stand up for Jesus and risk his own life – or deny knowing him. Peter falters, denies the Lord and as the cock crows, he is confronted with his own frailty.
