Day 3 - Jesus is…the Prince of Peace.

Isaiah 9:6 and James 4:8 (ESV)

Devotional: Peace is hard. For this world, it is impossible. Imagine how peculiar it would be if all countries laid down their weapons because they agreed never to use them again. Think of a world where security cameras are not needed, where jail cells are empty, where your anger never got the best of you. A place where anxiety and depression never win. To some, these might sound like fairy tales, but not for the Prince of Peace. Jesus came to bring peace in the midst of life's storms. This might seem impossible to you right now, and that is okay; it does not need to feel true to be true. While storms continue on Earth, war persists, crime runs wild, and harsh thoughts creep in, Jesus offers us a solution. He is the solution. Jesus came to bring peace to His followers. Draw near to Him, and He promises in James 4:8 (ESV) that He will draw near to you. He has seen you at your darkest moments and is ready for you to seek Him. Seek the One who brings peace.

Prayer: Jesus, I crave this perfect peace from You. Draw near to me as I draw near to You. Meet me in my sin. Bring peace into the areas of my life that feel reckless. I give them all to You.
