What does the Holy Spirit do?

The Bible is clear that living with the Holy Spirit in our lives produces fruit—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. These are the qualities that will begin to grow in your life as you spend time with God, regularly abiding in Him, just as Jesus taught in John 15 (NIV).

As you remain close to Him, you will naturally bear much of this fruit, and you will experience the profound truth that God is with you every step of the way. To stay close to God, keep yourself grounded in His Word, make prayer a priority, and walk through your day with Him. This ongoing connection with God will produce fruit not only in your life but also in the lives of others. People will see the evidence of God’s presence in you, and your life will become a testimony to His goodness and power.
