GOD IS NOT AGAINST YOU HAVING THINGS; HE IS AGAINST THINGS HAVING YOU

It is not unscriptural to have things, but it is unscriptural for things to have you. The Lord is not opposed to you prospering—He is the Author of true prosperity. However, when your heart begins to cling to possessions more than the Person of Jesus, then the essence of divine wealth is lost. The rich young ruler came to Jesus seeking eternal life, but when Jesus asked him to part with his possessions, he went away sorrowful. His wealth had become his god. He could not receive what God wanted to give because he wouldn’t let go of what he already had.

God has no problem blessing you with abundance, but He will always test your heart. Worldly wealth without divine accountability will only corrupt your soul. When God blesses you, He wants to ensure you remain free of the grip of mammon. The young ruler failed the test, not because riches are evil, but because his love for wealth outweighed his desire for God. If you must enjoy kingdom wealth, you must get to a place where God can demand anything from you, and you will release it without hesitation.

Beloved, there is a kind of wealth that only God can give. It comes with peace, purpose, and eternal value. If you’ve read through this devotional up till now, the question becomes—are you ready to pay the price for divine wealth? Will you allow God to wean your heart off the world’s system and align you with His covenant financial flow? It is not a loss to let go of what you have when God is calling you into something bigger. May you not miss your next financial phase because of a stubborn attachment to the old.

Is my heart truly surrendered to God in the area of money? Have I become so attached to my possessions that I cannot obey divine instructions anymore?

PRAYER:
Lord, I surrender my heart and resources to You. Help me to pass every test of trust and walk in the wealth that You alone give, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
