Grieving With Purpose: A Journey Through Loss نموونە

Day 3: Sorting Through the Chaos
"For God is not a God of confusion but of peace."
—1 Corinthians 14:33 ESV
Grief doesn’t move in a straight line. It circles, spirals, and loops back without warning. One day you might feel a little stronger. The next, you might question everything—your faith, your memories, even your ability to breathe normally again. I’ve lived those swings. I’ve also sat in the middle of the emotional noise wondering what was real, what was truth, and what was just pain screaming loud.
In the aftermath of loss, confusion becomes a constant visitor. You can start to wonder if you’re doing grief “right,” or if your faith is somehow broken because you don’t feel peace the way others say you should. But confusion isn’t from God. His Spirit doesn’t rush, accuse, or demand. He brings peace, even in pain.
Sorting through the chaos takes time...and grace...lots of grace. The goal isn’t to make perfect sense of it all, but to listen for the peace that signals God’s voice. He may not answer every question, but He always speaks with gentleness, stability, and truth.
I’ve learned to stop chasing emotional closure and instead lean into spiritual clarity. I may not understand everything I’ve lived through—but I do know my Shepherd’s voice. I know how He leads. And even in the mess, I can follow.
Reflect
What thoughts or emotions have been loudest lately? Ask the Holy Spirit to help you discern His peace in the middle of the noise.
Pray
Jesus, You are the Prince of Peace. When the noise of grief clouds my thoughts, help me return to Your truth. Quiet my soul. Show me what’s real. And help me trust You to lead me—even when I don’t have clarity yet. Amen.
