Fruit That Remains
“You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last...” (John 15:16 NIV). Jesus casts vision beyond personal intimacy to global mission. The fellowship we enjoy becomes the fellowship we extend. In His prayer, Jesus continues, “As you sent me into the world, I have sent them into the world.” (John 17:18 NIV). Mission is not an assignment imposed on strangers; it is the natural overflow of those living inside divine love.

Peter calls us a “royal priesthood” (1 Peter 2:9 NIV). Priests stand in two worlds—present to God on behalf of people and present to people on behalf of God. That is our new identity. Wherever we work, study, parent or play, we carry the atmosphere of the Most Holy Place. Remember Jesus’ words: My Glory is revealed through their surrendered lives.

Fruit that remains is not merely converted or projected; it is transformed lives and communities reflecting God’s glory generation after generation. The branch’s role is to instill and promote confidence. Confidence because “the One who calls you is faithful” (1 Thessalonians 5:24 NIV). Surrender because love is most visible through yielded lives—time offered, resources shared, platforms laid down.

Do you feel inadequate for such a calling? Hear again Jesus’ promise: “I chose you.” Choice precedes performance. The Gardener selected the branch, grafted it into Christ, and guarantees the flow. Your yes today may seem small, but rooted in eternal glory, it carries infinite potential.

Next Step – “Front-Line Prayer Walk”
Identify one sphere where you sense God sending you (office, campus, neighbourhood). This week, take a 15-minute prayer walk there. As you walk, whisper, “Father, thank You that I carry Your Glory here. Let Your love flow through me for fruit that remains.” Note any ideas or names that surface; act on one within 48 hours.
