Mini Devotions for Young Womenنموونە

Eyes to See, Heart to Know
The Lord said to Samuel, “Don’t judge by his appearance or height, for I have rejected him. The Lord doesn’t see things the way you see them. People judge by outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”
1 Samuel 16:7, NLT
What goes through your mind when you first see someone? Do you analyze their size, wonder about their outfit choice or rate their hairstyle? Do you find yourself making assumptions about them, based on what your eyes are telling you?
It can be easy to allow our eyes to tell us about a person’s character, but our eyes alone cannot know the depth of a person’s heart. God does not look at our appearance to see who we are. He looks inward, at our heart.
Next time your eyes begin to jump to conclusions about someone, take some time to get to know their heart—spend time together, ask them questions and get to know them from the inside, out.
