By Seeing The Coming Kingdom
“Surely I am coming soon!” Revelation 22:20 (ESV)
The King is coming! He comes to establish His eternal Kingdom in a world drowning in chaos and despair, where self-centered pursuits reign supreme, and peace is but a fleeting illusion. Day after day, we are confronted with sorrow and disappointment—some caused by our own failures, others completely beyond our control. In this world, where the prince of darkness wields his fleeting power (Ephesians 2:2), Christ will establish His divine justice, His perfect order.
But take heart! The story doesn’t end here. Jesus declared it before He went to the cross: “In this world, you will have trouble. But take courage; I have overcome the world” (John 16:33). His victory is already won, and He’s promised peace, joy, and ultimate triumph to those who trust Him. And even if life feels good now, here’s the truth: the best is still ahead. One day, we’ll see Him face to face—our King, our Savior—and live forever in His glorious Kingdom.
Here’s what we need to understand: Christ’s death on the cross was the key that unlocked eternal glory, a light so brilliant that everything else pales in comparison. His victory over the power of darkness was decisive (Hebrews 2:14-15; Colossians 2:13-15; John 12:31-33), and the day is coming when that victory will be fully realized.
The scroll sealed with seven seals—God’s title deed to the earth—will be opened by the Lamb (Revelation 5). With each seal broken, God’s justice will roll out, and Satan’s reign will come to a sudden end. The battle will be decisive. Jesus will lead the armies to victory against the forces of evil, casting them into the lake of fire (Zechariah 14; Revelation 19:11-21; Revelation 20:1-3). And then, a new heaven and a new earth will emerge—a world where righteousness reigns, and every tear is wiped away (Revelation 21:1-7).
But here’s the thing: while we wait for that day, we are called to live in light of His coming Kingdom. We’re not just marking time; we’re building His Kingdom right here and now. Our job is to walk in His light, serve Him faithfully, and bear fruit that lasts. When that day comes, we want to be ready to meet Him (2 Peter 3:10-15).
Let’s not miss this: no earthly joy can compare to what God has prepared for us in eternity. Our deepest longings, the ones we can hardly put into words, will be fully satisfied in Him. Whatever pain or struggle we face now—it’s temporary. Renewal is coming: life with God, face to face, forever (Revelation 21:1-7).
So, how do we live in the meantime? By keeping our eyes on the promise of heaven. By trusting that He will keep every word He’s spoken. By refusing to let doubt creep in and cloud the certainty that He’s preparing a place for us (Hebrews 11:13-16).
And as we wait for His return, let’s not lose heart. Neither the weight of the past nor the challenges of the present can diminish the glory of what’s to come. He is with us always, to the end of the age!
“But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ” Philippians 3:20 (ESV)
SONG OF VICTORY AND PRAISE
“And they sang a new song, saying, ‘Worthy are you to take the scroll and to open its seals, for you were slain, and by your blood you ransomed people for God from every tribe and language and people and nation, and you have made them a kingdom and priests to our God, and they shall reign on the earth.’
Then I looked, and I heard around the throne and the living creatures and the elders the voice of many angels, numbering myriads of myriads and thousands of thousands, saying with a loud voice,
‘Worthy is the Lamb who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessings!’
And I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and in the sea, and all that is in them, saying:
‘To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be blessings and honor and glory and might forever and ever!’” Revelation 5:9-13 (ESV)
