Paul continues to fight for his relationship with the Corinthians. He appeals to them, knowing that much more is at stake than "just" the relationship with him. If they were to reject the message he brought because of his person, it would be very bitter. He proclaimed Jesus to the Corinthians; they came to faith through his ministry. But now they are in danger of turning away from Paul because other voices seem more impressive, charismatic, or "successful."

Paul honestly lists all that he has been through—and not out of self-pity, but as proof: His message is genuine. His life is a testament to it. He did not spare himself, but gave his all to bring them the gospel. He offers them his heart: It is open for you! Please open yours for me as well. Let reconciliation happen.

Sometimes, hurts or misunderstandings arise. Is there someone to whom you should open your heart again, so that the message of Jesus is not blocked by a relational conflict?
