God’s Little Oceanographer: A 5-Day Reading Plan for Kidsنموونە

Day 3: Wonders of the Deep
“Deeper down, dark as midnight, live creatures great and small.
God sees these creatures, just as He sees you.”
Stand in Awe:
Little oceanographer, have you heard of dragonfish, giant tube worms, eyeless shrimp, and blind yeti crabs? They are found in the deepest parts of the ocean—the midnight zone, the abyssal zone, and the hadal zone. God provides food for them and sees them.
Discuss:
What does learning about the deepest parts of the ocean tell you about God?
Prayer:
God, You see and care for animals in the deepest parts of the ocean. I know You see and care for me too. Thank You! Amen.

Based on Tina Cho’s picture book, this reading plan will help kids appreciate God’s creation of the ocean and all the living creatures. Young oceanographers will understand that God's creation reflects His love for them. God's glory is revealed in the ocean and its content, but His children matter most. This plan can be done with kids and parents to foster curiosity about ocean science and to appreciate God’s handiwork and love.
