How to Hold God's Handنموونە

There are moments in our lives when we need to take that huge leap of faith. We need to believe the impossible, break a habit, take that first step, or perhaps make a huge commitment. This is the faith we need when God says to jump. Are we able to? Or do we need to think about it? Are we gripped with fear of the unknown? Let's look at a few examples from scripture to see how people reacted to situations when their faith was tested.
Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were threatened: if they didn’t bow down to a golden statue, they would be thrown into a fiery furnace. They knew that compromise was not an option. They trusted their fate in the hands of the Lord.
Esther would lose all that she had. She was made queen. When the time came for her to act, she took the chance to speak to the king and save her people. She was put in the right place at the right time for a purpose. "If I perish, I perish," she declared, and she saved the day.
Consider David and Goliath: this huge giant of a man shouted insults to the Lord and the Israelites. David decided to act; the honor of God was at stake. He stepped forward and trusted the Lord. It's not a story of bravado, but rather one of faith.
All these stories are not about being superheroes, but rather about relying on God’s word and His trustworthiness. Faith is not moving forward with limited knowledge into the unknown, but rather believing in someone who knows that unknown and trusting in Him. So, how can we hold God’s hand when faith says "jump"?
God jumps with us—He promises to never forsake us. Isaiah 43:2 says, "When you pass through the waters, I will be with you." Isaiah 41:13 states, "For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and and says to you, ‘Do not fear; I will help you.’"
This means that you don’t have to have everything figured out! We rest in the assurance that God is the one who comes with us! It's not blind faith, but real faith when we walk by faith and not by sight! Faith comes from hearing, not by what we see. If the fear of the jump is crippling you, it doesn’t mean you’re a bad believer; it just shows that your priorities aren’t correct. If you aren’t in a relationship with God in the first place, then when you come to that situation to jump, you definitely won't! So, learn to prioritize God. Spend time seeking Him. He has stepped down from eternity into this world. He has revealed himself to us. Let us place our trust and faith in Him.
Prayer
Our Father in heaven, we thank you, Lord, that you have revealed yourself to us. We thank you that you have brought us back into fellowship with the Father. Lord, we are so grateful that in those difficult times when we need to jump, you not only give us your word but you also give us your presence. I pray that you will help us learn to hold your hand through various seasons in our lives. In Jesus' name I pray, amen.
