Find Your Wayنموونە

Reading the Bible can feel intimidating sometimes. But one simple way of studying Scripture is called S.O.A.P. It stands for "Scripture," "Observation," "Application," and "Prayer." We'll show you how—it's easy!
S: Scripture
If you haven't already, read today's passage of Scripture. Then summarize it in your own words.
O: Observation
Read Hebrews 12:1–3 again.
- What do you see as the focus of this passage?
- What does it teach us about what might hinder us from recognizing what's true?
- What does it tell us to do?
A: Application
What's something you see as "entangling" you right now?
Who can you be honest with about your struggles? How could talking to this person help you "throw off" what keeps you from living from a place of truth?
Consider Jesus' life and teachings. How can this encourage you to persevere in your faith even when things seem unclear?
P: Prayer
Spend some time in prayer about a way you feel tempted to give up or give in right now. Ask for help, and see how Jesus' pattern of upholding truth can encourage you to do the same. Then, thank God for the example Jesus has given for sacrifice and endurance in our faith.
