King Solomon, the Wisest Man That Ever Livedنموونە

Solomon in dialogue with God
“At Gibeon, the Lord appeared to Solomon in a dream by night, and God said, ‘Ask what I shall give you.’” (1 Kings 3:5)
After a short summary of Solomon’s marriage and building efforts, we are told: “Solomon loved the Lord, walking in the statutes of David his father.” (1 Kings 3:3) Solomon’s love for God was expressed, among other things, by the lavish sacrifices he offered to the Lord at Gibeon, (a religious center at the time) and before the ark of the covenant in Jerusalem, the symbolic throne of God. He purposely visited these places to come into the presence of God.
And then we read in verse 5 that the Lord appeared to Solomon in a dream. This was not just a vague impression of something otherworldly, but a real conversation between God and Solomon. Solomon was asked to present a wish list to God, as it were. What a special moment that must have been!
Most Christians have the healthy habit to regularly read the Bible (which is a way in which God speaks to us) and to pray (which is a great way for us to speak to God). They know and believe that God listens and responds to their prayers in various ways. Do you have the same experience? In what ways are you in contact with God? How and where do you enter into His presence?
