Jesus is the Thread of the Scriptures

"And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he explained to them what was said in all the Scriptures concerning himself." - Luke 24:27 (NIV)

Today, we will explore how Jesus is the central thread that weaves through all of Scripture, connecting every story and prophecy to reveal God’s salvation plan.

Consider the story of Samson in Judges 16:29-30. Samson's final act of bringing down the temple to defeat Israel’s enemies is a foreshadowing of Jesus' sacrificial death, which conquers sin and death for all of humanity.

When Moses wrote about God saying, "Let there be light," in Genesis 1:3, it wasn't just about physical light. It also pointed to Jesus, the Light of the World, who brings spiritual illumination and life. Similarly, the sacrificial system outlined in Leviticus points forward to Jesus' ultimate sacrifice on the cross, which takes away the sins of the world.

Throughout the Old Testament, we see types and shadows of Christ. The prophecies, laws, and promises all find their fulfillment in Him. Jesus binds the Scriptures together, making them a unified revelation of God's plan to save humanity.
