What happens when Jesus confronts evil?

In the region of the Gadarenes, two violent, demon-possessed men come face to face with Jesus. The demons know who He is—the Son of God—and they know He has authority over them. With a single word, Jesus drives them out, and the men are freed.

But the response of the town is unexpected. Instead of rejoicing, they beg Jesus to leave. His power is too disruptive, too unsettling. Their comfort matters more than the freedom He brings.

Today, ponder this: How do you respond to Jesus’ authority? Do you welcome Him, even when He disrupts your life, or do you push Him away to keep things comfortable?
