The Ten Commandmentsنموونە

God tells the Israelites not to covet any things that belong to their neighbors. To covet something means to wish for it wrongfully, because it is not yours. The last few commandments we've read have been about taking care of our neighbors - not hurting them or lying about them, or stealing their things! This commandment reminds us that we should not try to glorify ourselves or try to be better than our neighbors by having better or nicer things. We should be content with what we have, and not spend our time and energy focusing on material possessions.
