THE SPIRITUAL CAPACITY TO RECEIVE FROM GOD

Every believer’s spirit has an inherent capacity to receive directly from God. Your ability to receive spiritually depends greatly on the health and condition of your spirit man. Ephesians 1:17-18 speaks of your spiritual eyes being enlightened, enabling you to grasp and appropriate the fullness of God's provisions and promises.

Many Christians struggle spiritually because they try to receive from God primarily through their natural senses or intellect. But spiritual realities must be grasped and received by your spirit, not your natural faculties. The things of God are spiritually discerned, and your spirit, energized by the Holy Spirit, has the unique ability to understand and accept them.

Building your spiritual capacity requires consistent growth and maturity. 1 Corinthians 2:14 explains, “But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God… because they are spiritually discerned.” Feeding and strengthening your spirit through prayer, meditating on Scripture, and spiritual exercises sharpen your spiritual capacity to receive from God.

Prioritise spiritual nourishment daily, understanding that your spiritual strength determines how much you can receive from God. When your spirit is strong and receptive, you easily appropriate His promises, enjoy His divine provisions, and live effectively for His glory.

PRAYER: Lord, open my spiritual eyes to fully receive all You have for me. Strengthen my spirit so I can walk confidently in Your abundant provision and purpose. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
