Integration

Taking care of your physical health is vital—exercise, diet, and sleep all play key roles. Whether it's weight training, cardio, or simply being active, find what works for you. Proper self-care helps address deeper questions like, "Who am I?" Our capacity often shrinks under pressure, and in Western culture, we tend to judge worth by capacity. But as followers of Christ, our identity is not tied to achievements or roles but to being beloved image-bearers of God. Despite life’s challenges, we remain God’s children, created in His image, redeemed through Christ, and empowered by His Spirit.

True integration is about believing in and living out our God-given identity. It requires peeling back the masks we’ve worn—titles, roles, and achievements—to uncover our true selves. Even in mental health struggles, we are deeply loved and valuable. Our worth isn’t tied to capacity; it’s rooted in God’s unchanging love. As we walk through trials, we grow in empathy, compassion, and faith. In those moments, simply staying alive and trusting God can be the greatest victory. He will restore, guide, and show us new capacities in His time.

Practical Application:

Spend a few moments each day reflecting on your identity as God’s beloved child. Write down one truth about who God says you are (e.g., "I am fearfully and wonderfully made") and one practical step you can take toward self-care today—whether it’s taking a walk, eating a nourishing meal, or prioritizing rest. Repeat this daily to nurture both body and spirit.

Short Prayer:

"Lord, thank You for creating me in Your image and loving me as Your child. Help me to embrace my identity in You, even when life feels overwhelming. Strengthen me to care for my body and mind as acts of worship and trust. Remind me that my worth is not in what I do but in who You say I am. Amen."
