The Shift: Part 1نموونە

“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.” (Matthew 5:14)
Walking Counter-Culturally
When Jesus said this, He was speaking to a crowd of ordinary people—fishermen, farmers, and everyday folks like us. He told them they were the light of the world, called to stand out and point others to God. That wasn’t an easy message for them. Many of them were marginalized and oppressed, living under Roman rule. But Jesus wasn’t asking them to change the world through power or influence. He was asking them to reflect His light by living differently.
Living counter-culturally doesn’t mean isolating yourself or being judgmental. It means loving when others hate, forgiving when others hold grudges, and standing firm in your faith even when it’s unpopular. When you live this way, people notice—and they’re drawn to the light in you.
What’s one way you can shine your light this week? Maybe it’s being kind to someone who’s hard to love, sharing your faith with a friend, or taking a bold stand for Christ. Whatever it is, do it with love and confidence, knowing that God is working through you.
