Learning About Love With St. Valentineنموونە

Share the Love
Saint Valentine worked day and night—
he lived and loved with all his might.
He shared the honey of God’s Word
for the good of those who heard.
He served the holy wine and bread
and through his work God’s love was spread.
But mostly Val served God above
by living out a life of love.
How did St. Valentine show God’s love to others?
Not only do we share God’s love with our words, but we also can show God’s love to others in our actions. In the Bible, Jesus says, “Let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”When we share our toys, cheer up people who are sad, or help our friends clean up their mess, we are shining that light. We are letting people see the good in us, so they can see how amazing God’s love can be.
What are some things you can do this week to share God’s love with others?
Prayer: Dear God, thank you for all the love you have for the world. Please help me to show that love to others through my actions.
Activity: Jar of Love! With your family, find a jar that you can use to make a Jar of Love. Decorate the jar. On strips of paper, write down as many acts of love you can think of as a family. Some examples might be to write a kind note to a friend, help my sister clean up her room, or read a book with my brother. Each day that follows, pull an act of love out of the jar and do it!
