Who Is Your Community?نموونە

DO YOU KNOW WHO YOUR NEIGHBOR IS?
“Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.” Hebrews 13:2
Angels are an interesting topic and a mystery. They are prevalent and referenced throughout God's Word!
"He will command his angels to protect you wherever you go." Psalm 91:11
Angels on earth do not have wings and halos. In Genesis 19:1-11 we have the account of two angels of the Lord who came to Lot's house as men in human form. So we know that God can have angels on earth walking among us.
There has only been one time when I felt I might have been in the presence of an angel in human form. I was having an Estate Sale after my husband passed away. This tiny woman with white hair came up the drive. We greeted each other as she carefully picked up items, looked at them, and then came over to where I sat. Every word from her mouth was like a heavenly being ministering to me. She shared she had lost her husband and other details about her life that were similar to mine, bringing me the comfort I needed. She never purchased anything, but somehow, I felt she had met her mission for the day!
If we treated our neighbors as if they were angels unaware, we would be more conscientious about our actions with each other! God told us not to neglect even strangers.
Prayer: Lord, I wonder how many angels I have passed by in my lifetime. I have felt protection many times but have not thought much about how I might serve an angel unaware. Open our spirit eyes, Lord, so we will be better neighbors and a better community. How we desire to be treated by others is how we should treat family, friends, neighbors, and strangers! In Jesus' Name. Amen

After a recent serious illness, I discovered first-hand how God works through individual communities. This six-day devotional makes us realize that we might not think much about the importance of who our community is—that is until we need one. The church is the community of various denominations who serve outside their walls.
