The greatest gift
Salvation is defined as ‘the act of saving or protecting from harm, destruction, etc. In theology it means deliverance from the power and penalty of sin’.
Zacchaeus a rich, well-known public official and marked ‘sinner’ has deliberately gone out of his way to publicly humiliate himself by climbing a tree just to see Jesus. Jesus rewards him by visiting his house and Zacchaeus enthusiastically welcomes Him. Jesus obviously sees the conversion of heart and mind and declares that Zacchaeus has received salvation.
Salvation is mankind’s greatest gift. As Jesus said, ‘For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?’ (Matthew 16:26a). This greatest gift is twinned with another of equal importance. That gift, discovered by Zacchaeus, is the gift of knowing that you need salvation.
Can I encourage you today to either receive this gift of eternal life or share it with those who have never heard that it’s available to them?

The dictionary defines Salvation as ‘preservation or deliverance from harm, ruin or loss.’ Salvation is not something we can achieve on our own, and this Bible plan will encourage you to put your trust in the only One who can bring salvation to your life – Jesus Christ. So come as you are and receive the gift that was purchased for you!
