Journey With Jesus 365نموونە

The Pharisees were blind guides. They were picking on the disciples of Jesus because they ate without washing their hands! They had passed down this tradition, along with many other such customs, that unwashed hands were defiled, therefore defiling the food. Jesus explained to them that it was hypocritical to keep all these manmade rules and ignore the commandments from God Himself. He explained to his disciples that it wasn’t what food went into one's body that defiles, but the evil that comes out of one's heart. Human nature gravitates toward legalism, but God desires a clean and contrite heart. David said: Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.
