Pathways to Intimacyنموونە

Do Not Forget Your Love Letters
Scripture Reading: “But He answered and said, ‘It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God’” (Matthew 4:4).
In our busy lives, we can easily overlook the spiritual nourishment that the Word of God provides. Jesus reminds us that just as our bodies need food, our spirits need the richness of His Word to thrive. The truth is, many Christians today are undernourished because they neglect to read their Bibles.
Reflection:
Think about this: You would never rely solely on cereal or a meal of crackers to sustain you physically; in the same way, your soul requires God’s Word for spiritual sustenance. Scripture offers daily bread for our hearts and minds, and within it, you might find the message, solution, or idea that you need. The Bible isn’t just any book; it’s a collection of love letters from God, meant to deepen your intimacy with Him.
If you have ever felt put off by the King James Version or any translation, don’t be discouraged. Countless translations, such as the New International Version, The Message, and the New Living Translation, provide easy readability. Find one that resonates with you. Your love for Scripture can only grow when you choose a translation that speaks to you.
Activation:
Consider how you best engage with words: Do you find excitement in written text, prefer listening, or enjoy visual experiences? Utilise that preferred style—read, listen, or find a Bible with illustrations or even one you can colour in. The goal is simple: Immerse yourself in God’s Word.
If you feel short on time, don’t stress. Even five minutes of reading or listening can provide refreshing insights and revelations. These moments count in nurturing your relationship with God.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, help me remember the importance of Your Word in my daily life. Guide me to find the right translation and method that will speak to my heart. May I fall in love with the Scriptures and seek the nourishment my soul desperately needs. Thank You for the love letters You’ve written just for me. Amen.
