Brotherly kindness, or "philadelphia," refers to the brotherly love between fellow believers in Christ, while love, or "agape," is the unconditional love we should have for everyone, reflecting God's love for us. Peter exhorts us to add these two types of love to our faith, as they are the foundation of all Christian virtues. Without love, our actions can become empty and purposeless.
