The Kid: An Advent Devotional for High Schoolersنموونە

The birth of Jesus teaches us a great deal about humility. Jesus gave up the whole lifestyle of Heaven to come to Earth to be with us. Sure, He could’ve come with great power, fanfare, and all the things that come with being God. But instead, He came as a Kid—a human just like us! He grew up just like we grow up; He felt just like we feel and lived just like we live.
The comfort we can find in this is that Jesus doesn’t just know us; He knows what it’s like to be us. That’s what sets our faith apart from so many others! We don’t just follow a distant, unrelatable God. We follow a God who lived as we lived and knows what we’re facing. In that, we find comfort in knowing Jesus knows us.
Today, take time to pray. As you do, talk to Jesus like you would talk to a friend. Talk to Him as someone who understands you because He does.
