God’s Blueprint for Your Home a 6-Day Devotion by Sue Afutuنموونە

A Word For Employers
It would have been a real shame if after admonishing servants; there was no reciprocal requirement of their employers. God is a God of justice and indeed, there is no partiality with Him.
Christian employers must be temperate in their dealings with their employees. The passage reminds us that we also have a master in heaven, God, who does not show favoritism. God will reward employers with regard to their treatment of their employees just as their stewards will receive due recompense for their service.
The Apostle Paul also reminds us that in Christ, there is neither slave nor free but Christ is all and is in all (Galatians 3:28).
Our stewards are created in God’s image just as we are. As such, there is no room for high-handedness or arrogance. Some employers are content using the minimum standards or something just slightly higher when dealing with their employees. A better requirement would be to ask ourselves what Jesus will do if he were in our shoes.
Reflection:
In what ways can you be a better employer?
Prayer:
Thank you God for the honor of being an employer. Help me to be faithful in Jesus’ name. Amen.
