Selah Day: Resting in God's Truth
Our second moment of rest in this devotional is focused on God’s word and establishing our identity in the truth of what God says about us not what others say.
As we pray and read through Psalm 119 today, focus on these verses: 1-8, 33-40, and 97-112. We are praying about being people who are walking in the law of the Lord, which for us as New Testament Christians is the Bible.
As we studied over the last few days, Daniel was strong in the Hebrew scriptures, he was a man of word and prayer. These two pillars are essential to courageous prayer. Prayer is courageous when it is based in the principles of the word of God. The word that does not shift or change with culture, is established in the words of the one who is the same, yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8).
The same as our last selah moment, spend today praying through Psalm 119 and establishing God’s truth as the foundation of our identity. Allow God to place in you a passion for prayer and his word.
Prayer for today
Father, I thank you for the Word of God, I thank you that the Word brings life, guidance, wisdom, and correction. I pray that as I pray through Psalm 119, you would stir my heart again to seek your wisdom in my life. To not live out of my own wisdom but to lean on your Word as truth.
