Want an easy-to-remember way to read and study the Bible? No matter which passage of Scripture you're reading, ask yourself these three questions: "What?" "So What?" "Now What?" We'll show you how!
WHAT? What is this passage about?
What invitation was extended to each of the sons in this passage?
SO WHAT? Why does it matter?
- Why do you think Jesus told this story?
- When you read about how the one son ran away from his father's invitation, what personal situations came to mind?
NOW WHAT? What should I do about it?
- In what ways have you resisted Jesus' invitation in the past? What caused you to return (if you have)?
- When you read this story, which brother do you see yourself in? What do you think God invites you to do differently?
- Who's someone you can mirror the father's example of love and forgiveness to today? What would it look like to celebrate the mending of a relationship?
