Playbook: The Game Plan for Navigating Temptationنموونە

Have you ever had a friend you spent so much time with that the two of you began to act like each other? Maybe you began to dress alike, say the same phrases, or have the same hobbies. Similar to friendships, our relationship with Jesus becomes stronger when we spend time with Him. When we’re spending time with Jesus, it is easier to follow His instructions and live as He did. Additionally, it is easier not to fall into temptations or give in to bad urges when we have a strong relationship with Jesus.
For example, I love to gossip! I know it is terrible, but it is so much fun! I get to learn the drama about everyone else’s lives, and it helps distract me from the drama in my own life. We all have habits in our lives that displease God. Some of us may steal, lie, or cheat. It can seem hard to stop falling into those temptations, but the more time we spend with Jesus, the easier it is to fight against them.
We can spend time with Jesus by reading the Bible, listening to worship music, or talking to others about Him. The stronger our relationship is with Jesus, the easier it is to resist our temptations.
