The Temptations

DAY 25 OF 28

If you’ve ever seen a tightrope walker attempting the dangerous feat of crossing a tightrope high above the ground, you probably noticed that their focus isn’t on the cameras watching, their height from the ground, the audience, or even their surroundings. Instead, their focus is fixed on the next right step. In the same way, the many distractions, stressors, temptations, and demands on our schedules that clamor for our attention can overwhelm us. God knows this and provides a better option. He promises us perfect peace when we stop and focus on God. Perfect peace doesn’t always look like every problem being instantly solved. It looks like having Someone to put our trust in versus trying to take on too much at once. Perfect peace looks like resting from striving, questioning, and worrying, and instead placing our trust in God. It’s taking our worries to the One bigger and wiser than us; the One who has greater perspective over all that is happening in our world. How can you work to stay focused on God and keep peace despite distractions this week?
