Milestones - Salvation, Baptism, Communionنموونە

The Ancient Romans are well known for building roads. A key part of how their road system worked was milestones. These stone pillars were placed along the side of roadways about one mile apart to mark the distances between locations so travellers could know how far they had come. They were made of granite or marble, and if you were to visit Rome today, you can find some of these ancient milestones still in place.
We have milestones in our lives, too, events that are like markers to help us recognise how far we have come. You’ve celebrated lots of milestones in your life already. Taking your first steps, your first day of school, losing your first tooth, your first word, and there’s so many to come. Starting high school, getting your driver’s license, and even one day getting married.
There are also spiritual milestones that are a cause for celebration. Salvation, being baptised in water, reading through the Bible, praying for another person for the first time. When we choose to follow Jesus, that is an important milestone, but it doesn’t end there. As we keep growing in our faith, we have other milestones along the way.
In the next few days, we will be learning about the most important milestone of all: salvation.
