“Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.” (Phil. 4:8-9)
Prompt
One of the best ways to demonstrate gratitude in your daily life is to say YES.
If you know anything about me, you know I’m big on saying YES. Before we gave our lives to the Lord, we said YES to a lot of destructive things, but now it’s time to say YES to God.
We say YES to surrendering daily.
We say YES to gratitude.
We say YES to our God-given purpose.
YES is a response that acts as a change agent; that’s what we’re looking for, right? Change? Each time we say YES, we tear down a piece of the walls we so carefully build up around ourselves, the walls we guard so closely to keep everyone at a distance.
As you say YES to helping others or to forgiving someone from your past or to any positive action, the more of that wall comes down. Pretty soon, it’s low enough for you to see over. Wow, what a view! It’s a whole new world out there.
