Think about the gear you need to play football. It's not just the helmet (although that's a pretty important part). It's also the shoulder pads, the thigh pads, the knee pads, the cleats, and the chin guard.
Unless you play a lot of football, you might not know what this is for. Is it really important to have a chin guard? And why do you need cleats? Won't regular old running shoes work?
But that's the thing. The people who've played the game for a long time know how important it is to suit up with the right gear. It's not just for the players' protection. The right equipment actually helps them play the game better. When football players have everything they need, they're more likely to win.
The Bible talks about a certain kind of equipment, too. Life can be scary, with many things to stress and worry about. You're going to be in a much better place to meet those stresses and worries head on . . . if you're suited up right.
In today's Bible reading, Paul talks about the armor of God. Think of it as a kind of checklist for the equipment you need to get through the day. Take a look at the "gear" he recommends for you. How can you make sure you're fully suited up and ready to face today's challenges?

We'll look at four major stressors we all deal with and see how God's words can give us comfort, guidance, and help with each of them. We'll talk about what Jesus offers you when you're not okay, what God wants you to know when people reject you, what to do when it's not easy to do what's right, and when we feel worried, we'll see what God has to say.
