Seeing Jesus in the Gospel of Markنموونە

CALLING AND HEALING
Look Closely:
- What strikes you about Jesus' actions and words in verses 1:35-39?
- Lepers were “unclean” and prevented from entering towns or approaching people. What do you think the disciples felt as they observed Jesus and the leper?
- 2:1-12 is a fascinating story. Reread it and choose a different perspective - are you the lame man or one of his friends? Are you a disciple in the house with Jesus? Are you in the crowd? Are you a religious leader watching through the window? What do you observe?
- Look back at chapters 1 and 2. Who are the men Jesus has called so far? What are they like?

In a world of hostility, corruption, and confusion, a regular guy named Mark wrote his gospel to boldly proclaim that Jesus is THE good news. Mark vividly tells his story with urgency and purpose, giving all of us a front-row seat to the teachings, miracles, discipleship, and life of Jesus. This plan puts you in the story so that you can observe, ask questions, and learn alongside the disciples.
