A Burden for Prayer: 5 Days to Prayer Motivated by the Holy Spiritنموونە

Look to the Lord to empower you to lovingly respond to the prayer burden He gives you (Rom. 9:3) In Paul’s life, we see how the Spirit put in him a sacrificial love for those who violently opposed him. Just as Christ became a curse for our sins when He died for us (Gal. 3:13; 2 Cor. 5:21), so the Spirit empowered Paul to almost wish that he could bear their judgment and go to hell so that his enemies could go to heaven. A World War II veteran asked, “Why is it so special that Jesus died for us? I gladly risked and sacrificed my life for my family and countrymen.” The minister replied, “Would you have risked your life for Hitler’s soldiers who tried to kill your family?” This kind of love is only authored by God. He will even give us this grace of love for the prayer burdens that He entrusts to us.
