The Best Escape
She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. PROVERBS 31:25 NIV
Growing up, my dad taught us to laugh at something every day. If we were ever short on comic material, laughing at ourselves was never in short supply. Hearing my own son laugh is a soundtrack I could play on repeat forever. It’s the sweetest sound. I love to laugh too! Whether it’s a funny video online, something my husband says, or a favorite show on TV, laughter fills my heart with joy and life.
In many ways, laughter is an escape, a reminder not to take life too seriously, and just give in to a giggle. Whenever I come across Proverbs 31, I am reminded of the importance of laughter. I see God as a Dad who loves to see His kids laugh with no fear of the past, present, or future.
On those days when you’re dead tired from working hard all day, remember that you are clothed in strength and dignity. Then, with courage and boldness, LAUGH out loud! It’s perfect! I hope you always remember that you have a heavenly Father who loves to hear you laugh.
