People of Light, People of Darkness: The Last Apostle | 1 John 4:1-6نموونە

Who do you believe when different people say different things about God? The people of darkness and death claimed to speak by God’s Spirit. After all, Jesus said he would send his Spirit to teach us all things and that through him, we would do even greater things than Jesus had been doing. They seemed to claim a greater form of spirituality than Jesus’s physicality. As though there was a new way of living that was no longer tethered to what Christ had done in the flesh. John won’t have it. “Test the spirits,” he says. Not everyone who claims to speak by the Spirit is from God. Any spirituality that takes you away from Christ and him crucified is bankrupt from the beginning.

He shows them what it looks like to be people of light and life instead of people of death and darkness. This plan takes us through 1 John and how to live in the face of distorted Christianity.
