People of Light, People of Darkness: The Last Apostle | 1 John 1:5-2:2نموونە

Repentance. It defined Jesus’s ministry. Repentance is about turning to God. It’s facing the reality that our lives aren’t often turned to God, but that they need to be. People of light and life are honest about this. People of darkness and death downplay it. Where is your life veering off course from God? What sins are you struggling with? What about yourself just isn’t right with God today? Make these verses your prayer. Claim it as God’s promise. Whatever your sin, confess it. God will forgive it. Christ died for you. And will clean you too.

Near the end of his life, John, the last living apostle, wrote a Gospel. And it seems some people were distorting it. John writes to believers caught in the aftermath, bringing clarity and commentary on what he wrote. He shows them what it looks like to be people of light and life instead of people of death and darkness. This plan takes us through 1 John and how to live in the face of distorted Christianity.
