Fix Your Thoughts
A 4-year-old girl complained repeatedly of boredom. Her mom countered by relating all they had done that day but could not convince her daughter otherwise. The complaints continued. When mom repeated her case, the little girl said emphatically, “You can’t control my mind!” How true. No one can manage our thinking but ourselves. Thoughts can be corralled and managed—it’s not an easy task, but we can focus our thoughts. In fact, we must! Filling our minds with the truth of God’s Word will help us dwell on good things, and give us the ability to identify any untruths.
Begin your day today with God’s truth, and reject any thought that does not line up with it. Believe you are loved, you are cared for, and God will never leave you. Think about the things that are excellent and worthy of praise.
Lord, I choose today to fix my thoughts on you and to believe you are a God of your Word. Help me to gather my wayward thoughts and surrender them to you.
